Nature Took Its Course

I hated love, or maybe it was just fear

But I don’t like close contact with girls.

I preferred the company of boys,

Avoided close intimacy with girls.

Preferred to be alone, but not lonely.

But like all humans, I got the feeling.

Constantly tried to cut it out,

But, expectedly, can’t fight against nature.

Can’t counter its actions.

I tried what I thought was my best,

Held my opposition so tight.

But as long as I breathe,

Nature must take its course —

By any cause,

Regardless of my consent.

I was eventually subdued and taken captive by one of them.

But this one was different:

A rare breed,

A special kind,

A hybrid species,

A unique gem.

But as expected — hard to get, easy to lose.

Again I tried my best,

Or what I thought was my best.

I never wanted to be fully immersed,

But this time, love took its course.

I never thought I would ever love what I once detested,

Never thought I could do what I thought was meant to be for the infested.

This is where another history begins —

In another world.

I now fully adapted,

Trying to make sure I cooperated.

Went with the flow,

Paved new paths,

Unlocked new emotions,

Unraveled many histories,

Also encountered many mysteries.

Then, into the next phase:

Tried to blend in both worlds —

Two worlds of...

Tried to make them blend in me.

At last I found a clue:

Had to continue disliking others,

But holding on to that one.

Kept her as a precious treasure.

And the next phase:

Tried to make sure laughter was in the air,

The atmosphere alive.

Started to care more about her,

Began to worry about her wellbeing,

Hated to see her around another.

At first,

I hated this feeling.

It disgusted me —

Taking care of her like she was a baby.

Oh yes, she was.

But eventually, I got used to it.

But overthinking, obsession, imaginary imaginations —

Trying to make sure I never lost her.

What I once hated became my priority.

But just when I started getting in...

I had to move on without her.

No misunderstanding.

It came with an agreement.

No bad feeling,

No grudges,

No hate,

No argument.

Calm.

Mutual

And somehow,

that made it heavier.

Because I never wanted to let go of her.

I never, ever,

Ever wanted that.

I always knew it would happen.

I always predicted it.

Always was.

Never stopped thinking about it.

Wished I could change it.

Trapped in my own fear —

Fear of what I knew would happen.

I can feel my tears,

'Cause of what I once knew was my dear.

Yes,

My greatest fear.

Yeah,

It happened.

Just as agreed,

As predicted.

I was alone as I always wanted originally.

But not just alone —

I was now lonely.

Everything felt empty.

Tried to adapt again,

To fit in the environment which felt new.

Made the pen my comfort —

Not just something I held,

But something that held me.

A quiet listener,

An ever-present companion,

Taking her place in silence,

Yet never truly replacing her.

The pen became my mouth,

Spoke the things I couldn’t hold.

From my heart to ink,

From ink to a silent witness.

And in those lines,

I found somewhere to exist

Without being questioned.

The book, my ever-attentive friend,

Always ready to take all my nonsense —

A virtue she always had.

And thus, my new found source of inner peace.

Awaiting the future,

Hoping its fortune would be worth waiting for.

Now a new path I’ll have to choose,

Going through it alone.

Oh no,

Not really —

With my ever-ready pen and the ever-prepared sheet,

Ready to take my nonsense and my good.

Now I think my priority is to harness my surroundings and unlock my potential,

To prepare for my future with her,

If eventually I find her.

I can feel my tears again.

A new fear:

Will I ever find her?

Will she still be mine?

Would I overcome this fear?

Where does the answer lie?
